University of the Cordilleras-College of Criminal Justice Education was recognized by Department of Social Welfare and Development-Cordillera Administrative Region (DSWD-CAR) for their implementation of the Bayanihan Bayan Program (BBP) during the year 2025.
One of the initiatives by UC-CCJE was through the signing of a Memorandum of Agreement with the Regional Rehabilitation Center for Youth, supporting stakeholders under the Rights2LIFE Project.

Additionally, Ms. Chennie Fortes, a criminology student from UC-CCJE, presented at DSWD-CAR’s 2025 Research and Recognition Forum. The study included findings on child-in-conflict-with-the-law. Meanwhile, Ms. Fortes’ adviser, Dr. Jevilyn Madalang, faculty member of UC-CCJE, presented her research on case attrition among rape victims in Baguio City.


Strengthening partnerships with DSWD-CAR, UC-CCJE had been recognized by this organization as a unit dedicated in implementing programs for the betterment of the community.

Through these initiatives, UC-CCJE as well as other Academic Colleges are able to achieve the UN SDGs. Particularly, it achieves SDG 16 (Peace, Justice, and Strong Institutions) through promoting justice for rape victims and youth rehabilitation. It also achieves SDG 17 (Partnership for the Goals) through fostering collaboration and strengthening ties between UC-CCJE and DSWD-CAR.
By addressing violence against women through research initiatives, UC-CCJE also addresses SDG 5 (Gender Equality). Likewise, SDG 4 (Quality Education) is also supported by providing students and faculty with opportunities for high-level research and professional presentation.
