The University of the Cordilleras – College of Criminal Justice Education (UC-CCJE) successfully conducted an Industry Consultation with representatives from the City Anti-Drug Unit (CADU), City Intelligence Division (CIDM), and Women and Children Protection Desk (WCPD) as part of its continuing commitment to ensuring the relevance and responsiveness of its academic programs to the evolving needs of the criminal justice profession.


The consultation served as a valuable platform for dialogue between the College and its industry partners, allowing participants to exchange insights on current trends, emerging challenges, and the competencies expected of graduates entering the fields of law enforcement and criminal justice. Discussions focused on strengthening academic instruction, enhancing practicum and internship experiences, and aligning the curriculum with contemporary policing practices and community needs.

Representatives from CADU, CIDM, and WCPD shared their professional experiences and recommendations on developing students’ technical knowledge, ethical decision-making, communication skills, investigative competencies, and community engagement. Their insights highlighted the importance of preparing future criminologists and forensic science professionals who are not only academically competent but also equipped to address complex public safety concerns with integrity, professionalism, and respect for human rights.
The activity further reinforced the strong partnership between the University and its law enforcement stakeholders, emphasizing the value of collaboration in producing competent, service-oriented, and globally competitive graduates. Through continuous engagement with industry experts, UC-CCJE remains committed to advancing quality education and ensuring that its programs remain responsive to the dynamic demands of the criminal justice system.

This activity aligns with SDG 4 (Quality Education) by strengthening curriculum relevance through industry engagement and ensuring students acquire competencies that meet professional standards. It also supports SDG 16 (Peace, Justice and Strong Institutions) by fostering collaboration with law enforcement agencies to enhance ethical, accountable, and effective criminal justice education, and SDG 17 (Partnerships for the Goals) by reinforcing partnerships between the University and public sector stakeholders to improve teaching, research, and workforce development.
