At the break of dawn of May 27, 2025, the Maalab-Kasanggasig Class of the University of the Cordilleras College of Criminal Justice Education (UC-CCJE) stood in formation for a rank inspection by the Regional Mobile Force Battalion (RMFB) 15 at the Athletic Bowl. The activity commenced at exactly 5:00 am and was supervised by Patrolman Vincent Paleng, Patrolman William Lucas Jr., and Police Corporal Wilbuer Yacapen.

The purpose of the inspection extended beyond physical presentation. It aimed to develop the leadership potential, discipline, and sense of accountability among the interns — essential traits for those aspiring to serve in the field of public safety. Each intern was evaluated on proper uniform wearing, bearing, and adherence to instructions. The RMFB personnel meticulously inspected battalion commanders, platoon leaders, and rank-and-file squads, emphasizing the value of command responsibility.

This initiative aligns with United Nations Sustainable Development Goal 16: Peace, Justice and Strong Institutions, which promotes the development of effective, accountable, and inclusive institutions. Through rank inspections, UC-CCJE and RMFB 15 contribute to nation-building by instilling core values and leadership ethics in young aspiring public servants. Training that emphasizes discipline, attention to detail, and ethical responsibility ensures that these future officers will help uphold justice and strengthen public institutions.

Following the inspection, a brief debriefing session was conducted wherein RMFB personnel engaged with the platoon leaders to discuss observed leadership gaps and areas for improvement. Constructive feedback was offered, emphasizing the importance of accountability, initiative, and the ability to lead by example in future training and real-world scenarios.

This rank inspection not only honed the practical competencies of UC-CCJE interns but also deepened their understanding of ethical leadership and civic duty. The continued collaboration between the University of the Cordilleras and RMFB 15 underscores a shared commitment to developing future law enforcement professionals who embody discipline, integrity, and a strong sense of public service—essential qualities in building a just and secure society.
