On July 2023, Forensic Science Practicum students of the University of the Cordilleras (UC) participated in a comprehensive educational tour at the Philippine National Police (PNP) Forensic Group headquarters located at Camp Crame, Quezon City. This visit provided an exceptional opportunity for students to observe the detailed operations of the PNP Forensic Group’s ten specialized divisions, such as crime scene investigation and forensic chemistry. The experience not only enriched their understanding but also aligned with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) 4 and 17, emphasizing the significance of quality education and collaborative efforts in preparing the next generation of forensic professionals.

The tour was inaugurated with an insightful address from PCOL John Audie F. Antonio, followed by an empowering message from PBGEN Constancio T. Chinayog Jr., the Director of the PNP Forensic Group. Both leaders highlighted the critical role of scientific investigation in the pursuit of justice and the necessity of equipping aspiring forensic experts with hands-on experience. Throughout the visit, the Forensic Science Interns observed forensic specialists in action, gaining profound insights into the precise methodologies, state-of-the-art technology, and scientific rigor foundational to each forensic division’s operations. This practical engagement reinforced their academic studies and intensified their commitment to forensic science as an essential public service.
