The University of the Cordilleras–College of Criminal Justice Education (UC-CCJE) conducted Industry Consultation Session 5 on October 7, 2026, at CL 1, UC Legarda, to strengthen academe-industry collaboration and ensure that its criminology curriculum remains aligned with current professional practices, technologies, and industry standards. The consultation brought together faculty members and practitioners from the forensic and corrections sectors to discuss curriculum improvements and recommend relevant seminars, simulations, and specialized training activities.

Key recommendations included updating course content on personal identification, fingerprint identification systems (AFIS), polygraph examination, forensic photography, digital forensics, and firearm evidence handling. The consultation also emphasized strengthening correctional service preparation through training in emergency response, persons deprived of liberty (PDL) behavior management, professional ethics, and communication. These initiatives aim to enhance faculty competencies and equip students with the practical knowledge, technical skills, and professional values required in forensic, investigative, and correctional practice.

This activity supports SDG 4 (Quality Education), particularly Target 4.4, which seeks to increase the number of people with relevant skills for employment and decent jobs, through curriculum enhancement and practical professional training. It also aligns with SDG 17 (Partnerships for the Goals), specifically Target 17.17, which encourages effective public, public-private, and civil society partnerships, as the consultation strengthens collaboration between the academic institution and industry practitioners to improve education and professional preparation.
