On February 9, 2026, an activity titled Information, Education and Communication (IEC) was held at Irisan National High School in Baguio City. Criminology Interns from the University of the Cordilleras, College of Criminal Justice Education (UC-CCJE) visited the school to engage with the students. The main focus of this session was the prevention of alcohol use, gambling, and other vices that could negatively impact the youth’s future.

This activity was part of a community engagement initiative to raise awareness among students. The interns discussed the legal, social, and personal consequences of engaging in harmful and unlawful activities. Throughout the session, they emphasized the importance of discipline, self-control, and making responsible decisions. These lessons were shared to help students avoid behaviors that could hinder their education and future success.

This event aligns with SDG 3 (Good Health and Well-being) by promoting the prevention of alcohol use and harmful vices. It also aligns with SDG 4 (Quality Education) by encouraging students to avoid behaviors that hinder their academic progress and future. Finally, it also aligns with SDG 16 (Peace, Justice, and Strong Institutions) by teaching youth about legal consequences and responsible decision-making.
