By: CCJE College Student Council

On 28 June 2026, the students of College of Criminal Justice Education (CCJE) of the University of the Cordilleras, in partnership with the Sangguniang Kabataan of Bakakeng Central, Baguio City, successfully conducted a Sustainable Tree-Planting Program at St. Martin School, Inc., Assumption, Crystal Cave.

This initiative reflects the commitment of CCJE students to environmental sustainability, civic responsibility, and community engagement. Beyond planting trees, the activity served as an opportunity to strengthen environmental awareness and encourage active participation in conservation efforts. It emphasized the importance of protecting natural resources and demonstrated how collective action can contribute to a healthier and more sustainable environment.

The College Student Council of CCJE extends its sincere appreciation to the Sangguniang Kabataan of Bakakeng Central for their invaluable partnership and support in the successful implementation of this program.

Together, we continue to cultivate not only a greener environment but also responsible citizens committed to creating a more sustainable future for generations to come.

This initiative aligns with SDG 13 (Climate Action) by encouraging climate action through tree planting and environmental conservation; SDG 15 (Life on Land) by promoting the protection and restoration of terrestrial ecosystems through reforestation efforts; and SDG 17 (Partnerships for the Goals) by strengthening collaboration between the University of the Cordilleras College of Criminal Justice Education and the Sangguniang Kabataan of Bakakeng Central to advance community-based sustainability initiatives.
