On June 9, 2026, the University of the Cordilleras – Center for Human Rights Education (UC-CHRE) and the Commission on Human Rights – Cordillera Administrative Region (CHR-CAR) held a collaborative meeting to strengthen their partnership in advancing human rights education and advocacy.
During the meeting, UC-CHRE presented its Medium-Term Plan for 2026–2028, outlining its key priorities and initiatives. In support of the Center’s goals, CHR-CAR expressed its commitment to resource sharing for selected activities, particularly those focused on capacity-building and human rights education.
The meeting reflects the shared commitment of both institutions to promoting human rights and fostering empowered, rights-conscious communities.
This initiative primarily falls under SDG 16 (Peace, Justice, and Strong Institutions), through both organizations demonstrating a shared commitment to strengthening human rights awareness, advocacy, and institutional cooperation. Additionally, the initiative supports SDG 4 (Quality Education), as it enhances access to educational opportunities that promote knowledge, values, and skills related to human rights, citizenship, and social responsibility. Together, these efforts help create a more just, inclusive, and equitable society.
