A Memorandum of Partnership Agreement (MOPA) between the Police Regional Office Cordillera Administrative Region (PRO-CAR) and the University of the Cordilleras (UC) was officially signed on November 19, 2024, at the UC Conference Room, Governor Pack Road, Baguio City, marking a significant collaboration for the “CrimeXperience” project.

The MOPA was signed by PBGEN DAVID K. PEREDO, JR., Regional Director of PRO-CAR, and PCOL JAMES D. MANGILI, Chief of the Regional Investigation and Detective Management Division. Representing UC were Dr. Nancy M. Flores, University President, and Dr. Christian T. Pascual, the Project Leader for the “CrimeXperience: Immersive Extended Reality (XR) Crime Scene Simulation.”

This agreement highlights the joint commitment of PRO-CAR and UC to advance innovation in crime prevention, investigation, and public safety. It clearly outlines the roles and contributions of both institutions for the successful execution of “CrimeXperience,” a project funded by the Department of Science and Technology (DOST) that seeks to develop XR crime scene simulation technologies tailored to the Philippine context.

Present at the event to sign the MOPA were PBGEN DAVID K PEREDO, JR, Regional Director, along with PCOL JAMES D MANGILI, Chief of the Regional Investigation and Detective Management Division for the PRO-CAR and Dr. Nancy M. Flores, University President together with Dr. Christian T. Pascual, Project Leader of the CrimeXperience from the University of the Cordilleras.

Also present during the event were: PLTCOL CAROLINA F LACUATA, Chief of the Regional Public Information Office; PLTCOL RENNY D LIZARDO, Chief of the Mobile Patrol Unit of Baguio City Police Office; Dr. Ariel Nimo B. Pumecha, Vice President for UC Academic Affairs and Research; Dr. Robino D. Cawi, Dean of the College of Criminal Justice Education; Dr. Nathaniel Lubrica, Executive Director of the Research Services; and the project staff.
