The University of the Cordilleras College of Criminal Justice Education (UC-CCJE) conducted an Industry Consultation for Course Syllabi Enhancement on September 26, 2025, from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., at the UC Legarda Campus. The event aimed to strengthen the linkage between the college and its industry partners by aligning academic instruction with current trends, operational standards, and professional practices in the criminal justice field.

The college dean, Dr. Robino D. Cawi opened the session by emphasizing the college’s strategic direction toward continuous curriculum improvement to ensure that criminology students remain competent and industry-ready. Mrs. Cherry Ann Cabarrubias, the college’s Program Chair, followed with a presentation of the Program Educational Objectives (PEOs), emphasizing the alignment between academic goals and the practical demands of law enforcement, investigation, and legal work.

Throughout the consultation, industry representatives and faculty members engaged in meaningful discussions to review course syllabi, instructional materials, and student outputs. The session offered valuable insights on enhancing practical exercises in legal documentation, investigative procedures, and case management. The consultation even highlighted commendations from industry partners for the integration of hands-on activities and simulations in courses such as investigation, legal forms, juvenile justice, and crimes involving women and children. Experts also suggested expanding real-world exposure and incorporating updated investigative techniques and legal standards.

The activity concluded successfully, reaffirming UC-CCJE’s commitment to providing responsive, practical, and quality education that bridges academic learning with the realities of criminal justice practice.
