The College of Criminal Justice Education (CCJE) proudly hosted its annual College Orientation on January 5, 11, and 13, 2024, welcoming new students into an engaging and informative environment. This meticulously organized event, spearheaded by the CCJE College Student Council in partnership with Locard’s Society of Forensic Science and Criminology Interns, aimed to provide students with essential insights into university services, college-specific policies, and academic expectations that are pivotal to their success.
Representatives from various university offices participated in the event, offering invaluable perspectives on the diverse range of student services and resources available to foster both academic and professional development. Each representative provided a comprehensive overview of their office’s role, thereby ensuring that students are well-informed about the wealth of opportunities and support systems designed to enhance their educational experience.
A standout moment of the orientation was the address delivered by the Dean of the College, underscoring the critical significance of discipline and integrity and the importance of adhering to college-specific rules and regulations. These principles are fundamental in nurturing a structured and professional learning atmosphere, which is essential for preparing students for their future careers in criminology, law enforcement, and forensic science.
Beyond simply introducing policies and available resources, the orientation served as a vital connection between students and the university community. It promoted engagement, fostered academic preparedness, and built a sense of camaraderie among students. CCJE reaffirms its commitment to providing Quality Education (SDG 4) by ensuring that each student is equipped with the necessary guidance and resources to excel in their chosen fields.
With the success of the CCJE College Orientation 2024, the university strengthens its mission to cultivate well-equipped, capable, and ethical professionals in the realm of criminal justice. As students embark on this new academic year, they are better prepared to navigate their educational journeys with confidence, conviction, and a clear sense of purpose.
