On November 27, 2025, the Professional Regulatory Board members—Hon. Ramil B. Gabao (Chairperson), Hon. Warren M. Corpuz (Member), and Ms. Zarah Mae I. Comom (PRC-CAR Representative)—conducted an audit at the University of the Cordilleras–College of Criminal Justice Education at the UC Legarda Campus.
During the audit, College Dean Dr. Robino D. Cawi, accompanied by Dr. Ariel Nimo B. Pumecha (Vice President for Academic Affairs) and Ms. Cherry Ann Cabarrubias (Program Chair), presented the current status of the college. The presentation involved highlighting its curriculum, instructional programs, and the qualifications of its faculty members as licensed criminologists and educators.

Hon. Gabao provided insights on the importance of strengthening faculty credentials. Furthermore, the Chairperson encouraged the Dean to raise the standards of recruitment and professional development. These critical actions, focused on enhancing professional expertise and institutional standards, demonstrate a clear commitment to Quality Education (SDG 4), which aims to ensure inclusive and equitable quality education.
Following the discussions, the board proceeded to inspect the college’s laboratory facilities. During the audit, the Board provided recommendations for the improvement of the facilities and the curriculum. Aside from that, they conducted interviews with both faculty and students during the visit. The inspection served two main purposes: to ensure alignment with regulatory requirements and to assess their adequacy in supporting practical criminology instruction. Ensuring that facilities and curriculum are adequate for practical instruction and aligned with necessary standards supports the delivery of high-quality learning outcomes.
