Faculty and student researchers from the University of the Cordilleras – College of Criminal Justice Education (UC-CCJE) participated in the International Conference on Economics, Business, Tourism, and Social Sciences (ICEBTSS 2025) held on August 5, 2025, in Bangkok, Thailand.
Representing the UC-CCJE, Ms. Chennie Fortes presented her study titled “Navigating the Complexities of Child in Conflict with the Law (CICL) Rehabilitation: Multi-Disciplinary Team Experiences and Challenges,” which explores the challenges and systemic responses in juvenile rehabilitation in the Philippines. Ms. Cheska Gwyn Likiyan delivered her research “Digital Rights: Social Media Usage Patterns and Cyberbullying Awareness among Senior High School Students,” emphasizing the intersection of digital behavior and online safety. Meanwhile, Ms. Nathalie Esteban shared her study “Accessibility Right: Exploring Mobility Solutions for Persons with Visual and Orthopedic Disabilities in Baguio City” which highlights the need for inclusive urban development and social equity.
Their participation in ICEBTSS 2025 underscores the University’s strong commitment to advancing the internationalization of research and promoting student engagement in global academic discourse. The event also provided valuable opportunities for knowledge exchange, collaboration, and exposure to emerging perspectives in criminology, human rights, and social development.
Through these research endeavors, UC-CCJE continues to cultivate globally competent scholars and strengthen its role as a leading institution in innovative, justice-oriented education and research.
