On September 13, 2025, Criminology interns from the University of the Cordilleras – College of Criminal Justice Education held their first battalion jog for the first trimester of School Year 2025–2026, marking the beginning of a series of physical training activities designed to build endurance, discipline, and camaraderie.

Starting at the UC Main Campus, the interns coursed through the city proper before circling back to the university grounds. The jog tested the interns’ stamina while also reinforcing unity as they moved in formation through the city streets.

The activity was conducted under the close supervision of the practicum advisers and personnel from the Regional Mobile Force Battalion 15 (RMFB 15), ensuring both safety and proper guidance throughout the route. Their presence emphasized the collaborative nature of the training, bridging the gap between academic preparation and real-world law enforcement practices.

For the interns, the jog was more than just a test of physical strength. It served as a reminder of the importance of resilience and collective effort. “The battalion jog pushes us beyond our limits, but it also shows us that we are stronger when we run together,” shared one participating intern.

UC CCJE integrates activities such as the battalion jog into its practicum program to promote holistic development, preparing future criminologists not only intellectually but also physically and emotionally. The initiative also reflects the college’s alignment with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDG 3: Good Health and Well-Being) and SDG 16: Peace, Justice, and Strong Institutions, highlighting the connection between physical fitness, discipline, and the pursuit of peace and justice in society.

As the first jog of the trimester, this activity set the pace for the rest of the batch, laying the groundwork for continued discipline, wellness, and teamwork in the months ahead.
