The Regional Mobile Force Battalion 15 (RFM15) conducted an intensive lecture and hands-on training on rifle exercises and proper arresting techniques for the Criminology interns and ROTC cadet officers of the College of Criminal Justice Education (CCJE) on June 28, 2025, at the DPS Compound Barangay Hall, Baguio City.
The training introduced participants to fundamental firearm handling, focusing on correct shooting stances, weapon discipline, and the four cardinal rules of gun safety, which emphasized responsible firearm ownership and operational awareness. Under the supervision of RFM15 instructors, the students executed synchronized rifle drills that enhanced coordination, discipline, and command response — core competencies expected in law enforcement operations.

Beyond weapons training, RFM15 provided a practical session on lawful arrest procedures anchored in Philippine criminal procedure and human rights protocols. Participants learned how to implement rules of engagement and apply reasonable force during arrest while observing constitutional rights such as informing suspects of their rights and ensuring due process. Trainers stressed that improper arrest procedures can result in case dismissal, administrative sanctions, or violations of civil liberties — a reminder of the legal accountability that comes with police work.
This learning engagement supports United Nations Sustainable Development Goal 16: Peace, Justice, and Strong Institutions by promoting a justice system founded on professionalism, accountability, and respect for human rights. Through values-oriented law enforcement education, the activity also advocates ethical policing and strengthens trust between future police officers and the community. Moreover, the practical nature of the training contributes to SDG 4: Quality Education by integrating experiential learning into criminal justice studies.
