UC Hosts Research Review in Collaboration with DOST, Fostering Regional Innovation

The University of the Cordilleras (UC) is actively contributing to the region’s research infrastructure by hosting major knowledge-sharing events. On September 28, 2024, UC conducted its 7th Agency In-House Review (AIHR) for Industry, Energy, and Emerging Technology (IEET) at the UC-TBI Center.

Organized by the UC Research Services Office (RSO), the AIHR was held in partnership with the Department of Science and Technology-Cordillera Administrative Region (DOST-CAR) and the Cordillera Industry and Energy Research and Development Consortium (CIEERDEC) involving government bodies in fostering research culture and recognizing excellence in research contributing to United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goal 16 (Peace, Justice, and Strong Institutions).

The primary goal of the event was to foster a research-driven culture among professionals and students, encouraging the exchange of knowledge and expertise across participating colleges and offices. The review featured a distinguished panel of external evaluators, and the winners will represent UC in the upcoming Joint Regional Symposium on Research Development and Extension Highlights (RSRDEH).

Notable researches include policy-focused research such as Urban Ecopuncture: Adaptation of Wetland Parks Criteria for a Hybrid Flood Mitigation in Cabanatuan City (CEA); A Morphological Analysis of the Integration of BPO Services and Its Impact on Urban Landscape in Baguio City Economic Zone (CEA); and Transforming Urban Dynamics: Implementing a 15-Minutes City Model for Sustainable Development in Tuba, Benguet (CEA).
