A Stand for Peace: UC CCJE Celebrates International Day of Peace with a Message of Unity

On September 21, 2024, the University of the Cordilleras—College of Criminal Justice Education (UC CCJE) gathered at the Legarda campus to celebrate the International Day of Peace, demonstrating solidarity despite adverse weather conditions. Faculty and students donned white attire, symbolizing unity, as they participated in a concise yet impactful program that reaffirmed their commitment to peace, inclusivity, and mental well-being.

The gathering underscored that genuine strength stems from diversity and the need to appreciate every individual’s voice in cultivating a culture of peace. UC CCJE’s initiative reflects its unwavering dedication to fostering harmony, understanding, and emotional well-being—principles that transcend academic settings and resonate within the broader community.

This event aligns with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 16: Peace, Justice, and Strong Institutions, mirroring UC’s continuing mission to establish a peaceful and inclusive atmosphere where students are encouraged to embrace diversity, advocate for mental health, and uphold justice and equality.
