On November 17, 2023, the College of Criminal Justice Education (CCJE) held its first career orientation for the academic year, with the theme “Intako, CCJE! Broadening the Perspective on Law Enforcement Careers.” This event was organized by the Locard’s Society of Forensic Science and hosted at the University of the Cordilleras Auditorium, which welcomed students, faculty, and key representatives from government agencies to discuss career opportunities in law enforcement giving the students a deeper understanding of the various roles and responsibilities within the field.
Distinguished attendees included representatives from the Baguio City Fire Station, the Baguio City Police Office’s Women and Children Protection Desk, the Regional Anti-Cybercrime Unit-Cordillera, the Regional Forensic Unit-Cordillera, and the Regional Criminal Investigation and Detection Group-Cordillera, who provided invaluable insights into the multifaceted nature of law enforcement work.
Events of this nature are vital in guiding students toward well-informed decisions regarding their future careers. By exposing participants to real-world experiences and diverse career paths, CCJE encourages students to contemplate law enforcement roles that align with their values and aspirations. Furthermore, such initiatives inspire students to visualize their contributions to community peace and security alongside with their passion and strengths.
Overall, the successful execution of this career orientation not only benefits students in their career exploration but also highlights the enduring partnership between educational institutions and law enforcement agencies, fostering a collective commitment to developing the next generation of professionals in the field.
