On May 13, 2023, the Criminology interns formed at Camp Bado Dangwa in La Trinidad, Benguet, to engage in a rigorous training session on advanced arresting techniques, led by the Regional Mobile Force Battalion Team Project Kalinga. The day commenced with an insightful lecture covering a broad spectrum of arresting methods, complemented by live demonstrations from seasoned officers. Acquiring this foundational knowledge is crucial for aspiring law enforcement professionals, as it promotes the safety of both officers and the community. Subsequently, the interns participated in practical demonstrations, where they applied their newly acquired skills, enhancing their confidence and proficiency.
This training session aligns with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 4, Quality Education, by effectively merging theoretical knowledge with practical application, fostering a comprehensive understanding of arresting techniques and honing skills vital for future law enforcers. Additionally, it supports UN SDG 16, which focuses on Peace, Justice, and Strong Institutions, by preparing interns to execute lawful arrests competently. Furthermore, the collaborative nature of this initiative exemplifies UN SDG 17, Partnerships for the Goals, showcasing how the Regional Mobile Force Battalion Team Project Kalinga and the interns can achieve shared objectives in cultivating proficient and ethical law enforcement professionals.
Overall, the training experience at Camp Bado Dangwa not only equipped interns with essential skills but also emphasized the importance of collaboration in developing a robust foundation for future law enforcement careers, ultimately contributing to a safer society.
